Kolhapur based well-known artist Samruddha Purekar and sculptor Kishor Purekar will be displaying their recent work in Jehangir Art Gallery, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai from 30th September to 6th October 2025 between 11am to 7pm
This show will be inaugurated on 30th September 2025 at 5pm by Hon’ble Guest Ms. Nidhi Choudhari, IAS Director – National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai.

Kishor Purekar
Kishor Purekar is an international artist. In 2020, he won the prestigious Signature Status award from the Portrait Society of America. He happens to be the only Indian sculptor to be conferred with this achievement. Two other Indian artists have won, but he is the only sculptor.
His 30 years of experience speak volumes about why he has won this award. Realism in art is not something that everyone can practice daily. It is not just a technical skill to bring the likeness of the subject. The real artist evokes emotions beyond the likeness. The personality, the mood, and the character are his forte. During live demonstrations, it is like watching a magic show where a mere lump of clay gets transformed into a real human being in just a matter of a couple of hours. Besides being a traditional artist, he has now developed himself to match the ever-evolving technology and has successfully completed several projects for large-scale works.
