Having some technical knowledge and the means to materialise an idea, are just the beginning of an inner struggle of being an artist. Creating art and making art to make money with, are two different thing. The 'romantic dream' of being an artist is killed off by the realisation of harsh realities of survival. Only the ones who have the innermost urge, dedication and patience to go on regardless, can be capable to creating something unique. But that takes hard work, many years and there is no gaurantee of fame or fortune during or after their lives. Most of the 'artists' are confused here and that is why there are so many imitations and less Art.
Filomina Pawarhttp://ericgcweets.weebly.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2709396143721111492.post-90430704554327532982014-08-06T23:30:17.187-07:002014-08-06T23:30:17.187-07:00>> Last year, an artist in London tied a liv...>> Last year, an artist in London tied a live dog to a post in a gallery and left it there to starve… Live till Death. The closest I got was David Shrigley’s work “I’m dead”, but that was a stuffed dog, which is not quite what is implied here. Moreover, it was in the Turner shortlist, but did not win the award. (Laure Prouvost won it.)
More detail at - http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/art/news/david-shrigleys-fine-line-between-art-and-fun-nominated-for-turner-prize-8587267.htmlAbhijeet Ranadivéhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00292125913504810544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2709396143721111492.post-86628130185300176222014-08-05T08:17:51.330-07:002014-08-05T08:17:51.330-07:00Artists have a role to play in society, and until ...Artists have a role to play in society, and until artists, figure this out and take on the responsibility, art will remain empty and will stand for and communicate nothing, just copied ideas. Now whether the role of an artist in society has to be taught or comes on its own is for each individual artist to think about, figure out and get going.Awanti Seth-Rabenhoejnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2709396143721111492.post-7980411705186058202014-08-05T07:33:00.639-07:002014-08-05T07:33:00.639-07:00Art world is nothing but a battle of judgemental f...Art world is nothing but a battle of judgemental frames...PNKURLEKARhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11901971202385716822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2709396143721111492.post-21470746271710788132014-08-04T22:42:41.191-07:002014-08-04T22:42:41.191-07:00Thanks for sharing Pankaja JK.
